Class 1: Hands-On Tree Pruning Join Arborist Andy Roubik for a hands-on tree pruning class at the Old Blue Moon Orchard. This two-hour workshop is perfect for those looking to learn the basics of pruning and improve the health and productivity of their trees.
Class 2: Pest Management & Nutrition - Part 1 Orchardist and author Helen Atthowe will deliver an engaging lecture on managing fruit tree pests. Learn about beneficial insects, natural enemies of orchard pests, and Helen’s proven system for pest suppression, including habitat building and selecting plants that attract beneficial insects.
Class 3: Planting and Hardy Orchard Varieties Luke Ruffner Robinson, Systems Ecologist and owner of Montana Fruit Tree Co., will lead a hands-on planting demonstration and provide an in-depth look at rootstocks and Montana-hardy orchard varieties. Gain insights into selecting and planting trees that thrive in our region.
Class 4: Pest Management & Nutrition - Part 2 Join Helen Atthowe again for a hands-on orchard walk. Learn to identify common pests and diseases, understand orchard nutrition, and gain practical knowledge to foster a thriving ecosystem in your orchard.
