About Us
As the farm turns 6 in 2020, we cultivate about two and half acres of vegetables, herbs, and flowers in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley. Our growing space includes four un-heated high tunnels to extend our very short Montana growing season, and a propagation house for starts. We are beginning to also use temporary “caterpillar” tunnels that move once or twice per season, to add to our protected growing space. Our flock of about 200 laying hens love their life in their mobile chicken barns which moves around the farm every 10-15 days.
Practices
We grow following organic practices, though we are not currently USDA Organic certified. We farm partly to foster and be a part of a vibrant community, so we welcome visitors, and allow customers and members to check out our practices and visit the farm anytime. Most days of the week visitors might only get a quick friendly wave from wherever we are working, but Tuesday afternoons during member share pickup (3:30-6:00 pm) one of us is always around.
